Work is performed outside service hours as much as possible. However, sometimes it is necessary to bring transportation to a halt. In that case, it is important to request a permit for temporary decommissioning (TBGN) 18 months before the planned start of the work.
Tram or metro temporarily out of service?
Work on public roads
Take our public transport conditions into account when working in or on public roads where a bus and/or tram runs.
Apply for a TBGN
You must request a permit for decommissioning (TBGN) via an application form from the Amsterdam Transport Region (VRA). Read more about the process and the application form on the Amsterdam Transport Region website. Form is in Dutch language.
Request replacement transport plan (GVB)
You can submit a request to us for a replacement transport plan. To draw up such a plan, we need the following information from you:
a clear description of the maintenance work and the desired period for conducting the work
a description of the maintenance work which has an effect on the tram and/or metro traffic
a substantiation of the necessity/desire to temporarily take the tram or metro out of service
If you already have this information, we like to receive:
possible alternatives for performing the work, including information about alternate transportation and the influence on the surroundings
preferred alternative with substantiation of your preference
